I Vid Therefore I Am

We've gasped over the angst. We've sighed over the fluff. We've oohed and awed over the songs that turn us on and turn us to mush when they accompany our favorite scenes.  They make us squee. They make us laugh. They make us bang our heads against the table because we just can't take it anymore.  But, once the video ends and the credits role, we find ourselves compelled to hit replay, give them a thumbs up, and save them to our favorite list because we just have to be able to find their work again.

The vidders who've been nominated for Best Creator have all proven their talents.  They use images of Sam and Jack along with color, effects, music, and their own creative visions to produce unbelievable videos that keep us coming back for more.

Best Creator

Cut it out!

10 Seasons.
214 episodes.
160 hours of footage.
From beginning to end, 6 and 1/2 straight days of Stargate SG-1!  Oh, and that doesn't include the hours and hours of extra features and deleted and behind-the-scenes footage that never made it to air (Hello, Trio confirmation anyone?).

So how does a fan vidder decide which Sam/Jack scenes will make the cut? Sexy or sappy?  Humorous or angsty? So many emotions to choose and so many musical choices to make them great.  Get ready for a ride on a great big emotional roller coaster as we take a look at the first half of the nominees for Best Video Editing.

Every Jack has his Sam...

As shippers we can't help but love Sam and Jack together, but we all have our favorite Stargate characters.  Some only read S/J fic, others like Daniel-centric or team adventures. And luckily, like fanfiction, there are as many different kinds of vids as there are vidders to make them.

Soooooo, who's in the mood for a little Jack today?

This next group of vids are our nominees for Best Jack Centric videos.  Watch, enjoy, and try not to get too distracted...sorry, what were we talking about?

Best Jack Centric

OMG...I think I snorted!

It's time for a break from all of this seriousness!  No really...we mean it.  Ever watch a video and feel like you hurt yourself from laughing?  Cheeks hurt?  Stomach ache?  Tears?  Well then, we have a treat for you today.

The following videos are all nominated for the category of Best Comedy.  We dare you not to snicker, smirk, or laugh out loud as you get lost in the hilarity.

Now, there's a concept!

Whether they've created an original story or have perfectly matched their video with the song they've chosen, vidders nominated in this category have mastered the art of storytelling.  We hope you have some time on your hands because you'll find yourself entranced as you watch these videos over and over and over...

Nominated and Nominating...an interview with akachankami

A self-professed lurker on Gateworld, akachankami learned of the Sam and Jack awards when one of her shipper friends tweeted about it.  She loved the idea of the awards and was excited to talk to us about why she made her nomination and why she continues to help keep the ship alive as a vidder herself.
