Llama Llama there's more drama!

These stories make us laugh, they make us cry, and the keep us on the edge of our seats. There's torture, there's war, there's the general angst of Sam and Jack being forced to weather another storm in their tumultuous relationship. Whether they are keeping us in tears, or keeping our characters in stitches, the rest of the stories nominated in the category of Best Drama will definitely keep you wanting for more.

Best Drama Part II

If a picture is worth a thousand words...

...then these nominees are priceless!

You've heard people talk about Photoshop and every smart phone now allows you to download apps that edit your photos. But posting a pic on Instagram and changing the coloring or shadow effect is not the type of photomanipulation we are featuring in our Photo-Based Art category.

Although it is exactly what it sounds like, photomanipulation in fanart is something completely different from touching up the family photo from last Thanksgiving.  These artists use popular pictures of our favorite celebs or, most often, screen captures they've either made themselves, or gotten from an online source. Once they have the pics they like they transform them into whatever they want.

Some of the nominees focus on manipulating the color schemes or adding their own dialogue to create a screen cap fic, while others take images and put them together to form something completely new.  All we know is that we love the way they've enhanced our favorite images of Sam and Jack.

Still wondering how the amazing S/J vidders are able to cut down hours of footage from our favorite show and mix them together to create something new and exciting (and especially shippy)?  Here's five more nominees in the category for Best Video Editing. Some will make you squee and others will warrant a big *shippy sigh,* but all of them are fantastic!

Another day, another universe...

About a month ago, we wrote a blog post about a few of the nominations in the Best Alternate Universe category. Today, it's time for part two!

Alternate universes are often confused with alternate realities, probably because outside of sci-fi alternate realities aren't very common - and if they are, they're usually called AUs. What makes a story an alternate universe then? Well, imagine your favorite characters stripped of everything except their personalities (there might be differences here based on different life experiences, though), get picked up and placed in a whole new sandbox! Suddenly, there is no Stargate, no Air Force and no aliens. Yet, there is still friendship, chemistry and in the case of our favorite ship - a whole lotta UST!Think... The Changeling, the origin of the very popular fireman!universe.

Don't worry if the differences aren't entirely clear yet - just take a look at remaining nominations in this category and see if you understand it after reading these fabulous stories!

The continuation of the Best Alternate Universe Category!

AU fics are defined as stories that are set in a completely different environment, like the firefighter universe from The Changeling.

Cut it out!

10 Seasons.
214 episodes.
160 hours of footage.
From beginning to end, 6 and 1/2 straight days of Stargate SG-1!  Oh, and that doesn't include the hours and hours of extra features and deleted and behind-the-scenes footage that never made it to air (Hello, Trio confirmation anyone?).

So how does a fan vidder decide which Sam/Jack scenes will make the cut? Sexy or sappy?  Humorous or angsty? So many emotions to choose and so many musical choices to make them great.  Get ready for a ride on a great big emotional roller coaster as we take a look at the first half of the nominees for Best Video Editing.

Whaddya say we mix things up a bit?

For some of our artists it just isn't enough for them to stick with one medium when making Sam and Jack pretties.  So what are you gonna do when you are inspired to combine pics and gifs and digital drawings? You come up with great pieces of art like the ones featured in the Art category for Best Mixed-Media.

Best Mixed-Media

Every Sam has her Jack...

From videos that showcase what we love about Jack to videos that give us what we love about Sam.  Whether it's an angsty mix of Grace and Entity or an inside look at what Sam was thinking during that missing year in Continuum, vidders in this category weave favorite Sam-centric scenes with amazing music choices to bring her story to life.

Best Sam Centric

Every Jack has his Sam...

As shippers we can't help but love Sam and Jack together, but we all have our favorite Stargate characters.  Some only read S/J fic, others like Daniel-centric or team adventures. And luckily, like fanfiction, there are as many different kinds of vids as there are vidders to make them.

Soooooo, who's in the mood for a little Jack today?

This next group of vids are our nominees for Best Jack Centric videos.  Watch, enjoy, and try not to get too distracted...sorry, what were we talking about?

Who needs Crayola?

Now, on to today's feature...

If you are reading this post, you know how to use a computer.  But, most of you probably cannot use your computer to do the things our nominees have done. Instead of using a pen and paper to create these wonderful drawings, the artists nominated in this category have used their mouse and keyboard to draw, paint, and color. Who needs Crayola when you've got an electronic carousel to work with?

Best Computer Drawn

Nominations in this category can be any art created by the sole use of computer drawing software.

Fork in the road stuff

At the beginning of the week we brought you the third blog post about the amazing fics nominated in the Best Alternate Reality category, but we're not done yet; here are three more!

Two of them are a few years old and one is by a new author, but that doesn't necessarily make one more popular than the other. All three are relatively long, multi-chapter stories though, so make yourself comfortable before settling in to read!

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

Who's up for a little adventure?

There are just as many reasons for why fans like SG-1 as there are fans to watch the show.  Some watch for the action, some watch for the science fiction, and some watch for the Ship of course! It's with all of this in mind that the categories were created for the Sam and Jack awards.

One of the things we wanted to do was bring you a taste of what other fans are saying about the works you've nominated or enjoyed. Aren't you curious?

C'mere and join us on a shippy adventure.

Category : Best Adventure

Fics nominated in this category must include elements of action or adventure.
